Fluid Management
Record the amount of fluids you drink in a day, as well as the time you drink these fluids. Try to drink most of the fluids before 6 p.m. to reduce the frequency of waking to urinate at night.
Bladder Training Drills
Bladder training drills are a very effective way to improve or control the urge to void. Start by going to the bathroom on the hour, use an alarm. This mean go to the bathroom whether you have the sensation to void or not. It is very important that you set an alarm and empty your bladder when an hour has passed. Once you are comfortable at this level, and are able to go an hour without urgency or leakage, increase the interval to an hour and fifteen minutes.
Continue to increase the interval by 15 minutes every few days or each time you are comfortable at a particular level, until you are going every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. You should not, however, go longer than this without emptying your bladder.
