Cut Down on Gassy Foods
The amount of gas caused by certain foods varies from person to person. The only way to know your own limits is through trial and error. These are some foods that cause gas:
- Soft drinks, beer, and fruit drinks
- Beans
- Dietetic foods and sugar free candies and gum
- Vegetables
- Ex: broccoli, cabbage, onions, asparagus, and brussels sprouts
- Fruits
- Ex: pears, apples, and peaches
- Whole grains
- Ex: whole wheat breads, and bran
- Milk and milk products
- Ex: cheese and ice cream, and salad dressing containing lactose
